27-Year-Old Dies in Henrico Rollover Crash [Henrico, VA]

Injuries Sustained in Minor Street Auto Crash [Richmond, VA]

A 27-year-old dies in Henrico rollover crash after a tragic two-vehicle accident early Sunday morning along Interstate 64 westbound. The Virginia State Police responded to the scene near mile marker 196, just past the Airport Drive exit, at approximately 4:54 a.m. on June 22.

According to investigators, the crash involved a 2013 Mercedes-Benz C250 and a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. Preliminary findings revealed that the Mercedes was speeding when it sideswiped the right rear of the Chevrolet. The impact caused the Mercedes to overturn violently, eventually coming to rest on its roof in the center lane of the highway.

The driver of the Mercedes, identified as Tameecha F. Chambliss, 27, of Richmond, tragically died at the scene. Authorities confirmed she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash, which may have contributed to the severity of her injuries.

Another occupant of the Mercedes, 27-year-old Alexandria Telisha Gamble, also from Richmond, was seriously injured and transported to a nearby hospital. While her injuries were reported as serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 46-year-old Miguel Andres Munive Rangel of Doswell, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was also taken to a hospital for treatment.

As the investigation continues, the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team remains on-site, and portions of the westbound lanes were closed for several hours to allow for a thorough analysis of the scene.
