Each year in Virginia, motor vehicle collisions leave countless families grappling with loss and financial hardship. The Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles recorded over 120,000 crashes last year alone, resulting in more than 60,000 injuries and nearly 1,000 fatalities statewide.
High-speed impacts and wrong-way collisions remain among the most deadly, underscoring the importance of safe driving practices, well-maintained roadways, and immediate medical evaluation, even when injuries appear minor.
When tragedy strikes, victims and their families face a daunting array of challenges: medical bills, lost wages, vehicle repair costs, and profound emotional trauma.
In wrongful-death cases, surviving relatives may seek damages for funeral expenses, loss of companionship, and the decedent’s projected earnings. Victims who survive serious injuries might pursue compensation for ongoing rehabilitation, diminished earning capacity, and pain and suffering.
