RICHMOND, Va. — Police are seeking information on a crash involving Richmond Principal Gregory Muzik, who was struck by a car while riding his bicycle on Patterson Avenue. The Richmond Police Department is urging anyone with information or video footage of the incident to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
The crash occurred on Tuesday, March 11, near the 4400 block of Patterson Avenue at approximately 4:38 p.m. When officers arrived, they found Mary Munford Elementary School Principal Gregory Muzik injured after his bicycle was reportedly rear-ended by a vehicle. Emergency responders transported Muzik to a local hospital, where he remains in life-threatening condition. According to police, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to the Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team, Muzik was riding westbound in the parking lane along Patterson Avenue when the accident occurred. This section of Patterson Avenue has a parking lane situated between the travel lane and a dedicated bicycle lane.
